Heather Pearce, a PhD student in Psychology from the University of Adelaide, is undertaking research into forgiveness in interpersonal relationships.  A particular focus of the research is instances when people do not forgive following hurtful events.

Heather is looking to recruit participants with an experience of a close family member (with whom they still have contact) or a current relationship partner who have personally hurt them and who they haven't been able to forgive.

Participants will be asked to complete an online survey which will take around 20 minutes.  All responses will be completely confidential and your participation enters you in a draw to win a $100 Westfield voucher.If you are interested, you can read details of the research, together with a link to the online survey, in the attached document.

Making Stepfamilies Work, a course for couples.  There are still places available in our Same Sex couples course - run over two Saturdays - 28th November and 12 December, 9.30am - 4.30pm, held in Carlton.

A one day training Workshop for Group Leaders - 30 October 2009

EACH (Eastern Access Community Health) is presenting a four week course with the hope to help step and blended families improve their family relationships.  This course will include informal discussion and support.

National Stepfamily Awarenes Day will be celebrated this year with the release of Stepfamilies Australia's new guidelines: Schools supporting Families through Change and Transition.

Sarah Marinos, journalist, is looking to find a stepfather willing to be interviewed for an article for Take 5 magazine for Father's Day.

It's a compilation story - so the two-page feature will include the stories of three men who are all fathers.

Stepfamily Counselling Program - Melbourne  

One day Repartnering With Children workshops (subsidised by Australian Government Feb-June), and Making Stepfamilies Work group work workshops have been conducted in all states and territories during 2008.  Workshops were offered in conjunction with community partners.

It's great to see growing awareness of the need to develop specific knowlege and skills for effective work with stepfamilies.
