Group Work Training
Making Stepfamilies Work Leader Training - Friday 24th October - (a one day workshop for group leaders) offers a unique opportunity to understand the content and approach of this powerful way of working with stepfamily couples. The workshop utilises the Making Stepfamilies Work Leader's Manual, a versatile program for relationship educators, based on 20 years of practice experience of the authors Irene Gerrard and Margaret Howden.
Participants can expect to enhance knowledge and skills in working effectively with stepfamilies, especially in group settings; a thorough understanding of how to facilitate the course, and suggestions on managing group processes.
The workshop will be useful for staff new to working with stepfamilies in group settings; experienced educators wanting specialist training in stepfamily work; as well as practitioners wanting to combine educational strategies with the therapeutic intent of empowering couples to achieve changes in their family. Participant feedback has been positive.
A most useful, practical, thought provoking workshop.
'Real life' stories helped illustrate important points.
