Raising the Profile of Stepfamily Issues
SAVI uses a multi faceted approach to raise the profile of stepfamily issues at a local, state and national level. This includes lobbying government, liaising with the media, networking with service providers and community education.
The last Sunday in July has been designated as National Stepfamily Awareness Day. A day dedicated to the stepfamily, it provides an opportunity to acknowledge, promote and celebrate the great work that stepfamilies do. National Stepfamily Awareness Day could also be a great opportunity to organise your own stepfamily get-together.
SAVI Community Ambassadors are trained volunteers who are skilled and experienced in marketing and/or public speaking and are committed to promoting stepfamily issues and the work of SAVI.
