PRIVACY CHARTER
In Victoria there are new privacy principles. These principles protect your personal and health information provided to this organisation.
What this means for you
- As a client of the Stepfamily Association of Victoria (SAVI), you can expect to be informed about the information we need to collect from you and why.
- We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your information is accurate and up to date and is kept securely and confidentially.
- We will only provide with your consent your information to another organisation where it will assist the provision of services to you.
- If your information needs to be transferred to another organisation this will be done securely and confidentially.
- Where we use information for reporting and planning, we will ensure that you cannot be identified from this information.
- To ensure that your personal needs are best met the SAVI services team use a shared record.
What are your rights and responsibilities
You have the right to access and correct your information held by us. We will provide a response to you within 45 days of your request.
To assist us to keep your information up to date, we ask you to notify us promptly of any change of address or circumstances. We welcome your suggestions to improve our records, to make sure you are well informed and that your information is protected. If you have any queries or concerns or if you wish to access your personal information, you may discuss these with the staff member you are dealing with or request to speak with our privacy contact person identified below.
If we do not fulfill our obligations under this Charter, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Executive Officer. You also have the right to contact the Health Services Commissioner
