Get Involved

Since 1981, thousands of stepfamilies have gained strength and hope through getting involved. Sometimes this is looking for information and support. Then having discovered how valuable specialised stepfamily resources can be, sometimes it is offering this to others, either through volunteering or donating … as the saying goes, what goes around, comes around … .

We invite you to get involved in whatever way works for you at your current phase of stepfamily life. Maybe it’s accessing resources yourself. Maybe it’s becoming a Friend of Stepfamilies Australia.

Friends are volunteers and donors whose efforts help strengthen other stepfamilies. 

Volunteers

Consider being a resource person yourself – and that can be anything from telling your friends and networks how to access supports, right through to training to run groups, or joining in campaigns lobbing for adequate government funding for specialist stepfamily resources and services.

Stepfamily networks are developing all around Australia, and new opportunities for involvement are emerging. Look out for developments in your state.

We also invite you to consider donating to fast track development of our online education program, which will take our independently validated Making Stepfamilies Work course online and to households across rural, regional and remote Australia.
